    Hi team,
I was asked to open a new topic regarding this issue.

When adding an item to the cart from within its Product Detail Page (single product) the cart quantity does not get updated dynamically (ajax) unless a specific plugin is installed for that like xt-woo-ajax-add-to-cart. This behavior is quite problematic since it’s a) a bad experience for the user b) it messes with my analytics. (note: the settings->products->Enable AJAX add to cart buttons on archives is enabled but of course as the label indicates, it only affect archive pages like Shop)

I am not interested in installing more plugins and I find quite curious that at this stage in terms of ecommerce this reloading is a default behavior.

Can you help me find a plugin

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey @thedrap,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Can you show us what you mean by recording a short video? I’m not sure I’m catching the issue you’re reporting so I want to make sure we fully understand it before we look for a solution.

There are a few options to record a short video and here are some:

    – Loom (https://www.loom.com/)
    – ShareX (https://getsharex.com/)
    – Clip by ClickUp (https://clickup.com/features/clip)

We look forward to hearing from you.

Sure. I can record a video but unlike images I don’t know a platform to share the link easily with you. I can’t attach files in the forum.

    ok.. here the video.

The cursor is not visible but you will see that after the add to cart is clicked, the page reloads itself to refresh the quantity of the cart.

    Hello @thedrap,

The file is not accessible, please make it public.

Also, Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Sorry about that. File is public now with the link.

Regarding the status page, is this thread private or public? I need to know before sharing the data here.

I can see it now, thanks!

The forums are public, please replace any information you’re uncomfortable sharing with XXXXXX.

Checking the video, this seems like nothing more than a theme/plugin conflict.
    ?
The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each until you find the one causing the conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation of how to do a conflict test here.

Please let us know your findings. ??

    Hi there,
I went ahead and disabled all plugins but Woo using the Health-Check 1.5.0 plugin and I still see the product page reloading after adding to the cart.

Side note.. I read online that it seems to be a default behavior. Can you confirm that please ?

Here the new video without theme and plugins

    Hello,

May I ask can you send a screenshot of your settings under WooCommerce > settings > products > general.

    Hi there,
    Thanks for the info.

the cart quantity does not get updated dynamically (ajax)

I went ahead and disabled all plugins but Woo using the Health-Check 1.5.0 plugin and I still see the product page reloading after adding to the cart.

If you would like the page to avoid reload after clicking add to cart, you can use this plugin below:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wpc-ajax-add-to-cart/

If your goal is something different, please provide us with more information. Thanks.

That’s exactly the problem. I know that there’s no theme or plugin conflict which means that by default Woocommerce is reloading the page. I want to avoid using another plugins to get rid of the reload and that is why I opened this thread.

    a) Can you please confirm the behavior? (i.e. that the reload is by design)
    b) if a is affirmative, can we get that improved? It’s 2022 and if there’s no reason to reload a page and hinder the customer experience why instead of having to install another plugin it’s not a built-in setting?

    Hi there @thedrap ??

    a) Can you please confirm the behavior? (i.e. that the reload is by design)

At the moment, yes. Feel free to find the related documentation directly linked here.

    b) if a is affirmative, can we get that improved?

Request new features and extensions and vote on existing suggestions on our official ideas board. Our Product teams regularly review requests and consider them valuable for product planning.

Now, I understand that the following:

I want to avoid using another plugins to get rid of the reload and that is why I opened this thread.

is in contrast with what was included with the original message here:

Can you help me find a plugin

Nevertheless, as my colleague suggested earlier, if you would like the page to avoid reload after clicking add to cart, you can use this plugin below:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wpc-ajax-add-to-cart/

    I hope that helps!
