Adding media and admin conflict

Hi there
When, under Themed Profiles, i restrict admin access to the authors, they cant upload media anymore. Instead, the lightbox redirects them to the profile page like this: https://cl.ly/L3z8
I dont want authors to be able to access the dashboard, or have the top navbar, any ideas on fixing this?
