I’ve been searching, largely in vain, for a WP gallery plugin that offers all of the data that is already attached to media files in WP. Such as: Who uploaded the file, the date it was uploaded, image dimensions, file size, etc.

I’m also hoping for the ability to add comments and ratings to an image in the gallery. A couple do some of it, but none do anywhere near all of it.

Is Foo Gallery easy enough to modify to add fields to the template that WP already has? And can I add custom fields using something like ACF, and add them to the display of an image?

I’m trying to get away from a 3rd party, external gallery than doesn’t integrate in any way with WP.

    Hi @steel-rat,

FooGallery PRO Expert?and?FooGallery PRO Commerce?allow you to easily create custom captions using HTML and custom attachment metadata.?FooGallery PRO?searches for metadata fields that it can identify and displays these as dynamic placeholders. You can add to any existing fields by using custom fields plugins, such as?ACF – Advanced Custom Fields?or?Pods – Custom Content Types and Fields.

Below is a guide on how to create custom captions/fields: https://fooplugins.com/documentation/foogallery/pro-expert/using-custom-captions/

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,

    Thanks Elvis!

I signed up for a month to make sure this will do what I need.

I created custom fields, got those into the Custom Captions section. Set it to always visible in the hover section. But I only see one of the fields, and only if I use Foobox (which I don’t like because the left and right arrows change position based on the image apsect ratio and size). I checked and the other fields have values for the media items I’m looking at (I’m using a lot of the WP out of the box fields, like height and width). Only the Title is showing.

Also, it doesn’t seem to matter which layout I use. Whether Responsive, Image viewer, Grid Pro, the gallery always looks the same.

I think I figured it out. Strange combinations can cause strange effects sometimes.

I will post in a new thread if I have any questions. Thanks very much for your help!
