• Hello!

On my website (www.thecuratorpodcast.com) I have the hero image and three pages underneath. I would like to turn two of those pages (the about and the contact) into blog posts. At the moment, the one that is showing as a blog post (TC3 etc etc) is my Latest Posts page. Is there a way to make it so that the other two are also blog posts?

    Thanks.

Hi there – Edin doesn’t have a built-in area in the front-page template for displaying individual featured posts, only pages.

Thanks Kathryn. Is there any way to have categories show up in the same way that the Latest Post does?

Could you try a Category widget?

The “Front Page: Featured Page One” (and two and three)only seem to allow you to display pages as opposed to categories. Is there anyway to add a widget there or have it display categories?

No, I’m afraid not. You’d need to add the category widget to the widget area.

As a workaround, you could create a page which links to your categories. If your categories don’t change often, you could do this manually.

If you edit/add categories regularly, you could look for a Categories shortcode that would let you dynamically display a list of categories on a page. I don’t know of a specific one offhand, but you could have a look through the plugins directory to see if you can find something.

Thanks! I’ll let you know how it goes. ??

In the end I simply worked around it by making the post I wanted to feature on the front page a page in itself.

Is it possible to change the category page so that it displays multiple posts with excerpts instead of one full post followed by an “Older posts” button?

Archive pages like the category page follow the number of posts you’ve set per blog page, under Settings > Reading. Since it looks like you’ve set that to a single post, that’s the number of posts you’re getting on archive and category pages.

You might be able to set a custom number of posts displaying on your category pages by using a plugin – you could have a look around in the plugin directory.
