Adding Navigation bar on archives.php

Probably a simple fix, but I’ve been coding all day and my brain is fried.

Click on any of those single posts (no actual content, just filler space.)

You see how there’s a nav bar right above the blog post:

When I click on any Archive date, I want that same bar displaying navigation information for dates. Example:

[alignleft]<< November 2009
[alignright]January 2010 >>

Perhaps wordpress is already set up to do that, but somewhere along the way something happened and it does not display properly. In fact that bar does not display at all. Thanks for your help!
