How do I go about adding navigation links to the bottom of the page. In one of my other wordpress sites I was able to designate this when I added a page. I would scroll down to the bototm of the page editing area and under ‘custom fields’ i was able to select the field ‘home’ and the number 1 and the page title then showed as a link ont he home page.

I want to duplicate this and am unable to determine were to start???

    Thank you for any help.

  • Have you tried using the same theme & plugins on this new site. The functionality you describe is not part of WordPress by default.

I’ve put in all the same plugins…so I can’t figure out what the issue is! I’m stumped ;(

    And the same theme?

Same theme. I merely deleted a few things here and there that were not needed, however, this issue was there before any alterations were made.

I really don’t know what the issue is!!?! ??

Well, this functionality was either added by the theme or via one of your plugins (my money is on the theme).

But how did the area for custom fields get ont he page editor? Does the theme govern what is on the editor at all???

    Yes – it can do.

Well I think I figured it out. Now I just need to figure out where to go in the settings.

    I read this:

    1. After you have written your post, scroll down to the area titled Custom Fields.
Note: As of WordPress version 3.1, some screen options on the Post & Page edit Administration Panels are hidden by default. Custom Fields are hidden by default if they have not been used before.

    …and I found it here:

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Custom_Fields

So now off to find how to show custom fields in the page editor.

And…yes… esmi…it is found in the footer script. So now once I can change defaults i’m good to go.

    Thanks all!
