adding new images deletes old ones

I have some images in the gallery, and decided to add couple of new ones. I used the ‘Upload images’ and chosen some from the media library. The list is updated and thumbs of the new images are visible. But when I click ‘Save’, all the original images are gone and there are only the ones I just added.
How to do that properly without loosing the images that are already there?
