Adding new tags to Edit screen

  • Hi Folks,
    I’d like to write a hack to WordPress to add a new tag and button to the WP editor screen and I’m looking for clues ??
    I’d like a new button, along the lines of “UL”, IMG” etc that asks for a parameter and then includes a piece of Javascript. The button should then change to </script> so I can close the tag.
    Does anyone have anything similar I could look at for clues or pointers as to where I should start looking?
