    Hi Scott,

This is something of a feature request: My sales team has identified a need for a dedicated notes section to be attributed contacts and organizations… The way our site is built now, they use the comments field to facilitate this, but at a glance it doesn’t show the date the comment/note was made.

Wondering if a dedicated notes section is in the pipeline, or if the “additional information” box is the closest we can get to this. As a work-around, I’ve suggested putting activity notes with a date into this box, but it would be nice to see a dedicated place for these so we can see which sales associate spoke to a contact/org last and what was discussed.

If there’s another better way of handling this that we’re not seeing right now, please let me know! The plugin’s been fantastic otherwise. Thanks for your attention.

  • We decided to use the built-in WordPress comments because it works well, allows for chronological ordering and replies to comments. Plus it benefits from updates made to WordPress core rather than having to rely on a third-party update for improvements. We did consider creating our own notes/comments section, but we really didn’t see much else that we would have added to the built-in comments to make it worthwhile.

The only thing I would add to the comments section, which is something you mentioned, is adding the date/time that a comment was made. We’ll look into adding this in the future as I think it would be a very valuable piece of information.

In the meantime, if you have a specific comment that you are trying to determine when it was made, you can click the edit link under the comment and find the date/time it was submitted. We will work on an update to address this though.
