• Someone added the parent product also as a bundle, meaning it was added as a bundle to itself.

This crashed the product edit, and the product list in both admin and front-end (category view), and we had to manually clean up through db to make the site work again.

Thus you need to ensure this isn’t possible to do.

    Hi @syntaxerrorno ,

Did you mean that your customers can add the main bundle to that bundle as a subitem? Technically, this is impossible.

Could you kindly share some screenshots of backend settings or a screen recording of this case so that we can inspect it further? We tried this on our dev site and we are sure this is impossible, especially from the backend https://app.screencast.com/uZi2TbDsvPo44. If that happens in the frontend, probably something is interfering with the settings of smart bundles on your site.

    Best regards.

No the admin can add the product to itself. Like you have created a Smart Bundle product, then you add this as a bundled product to itself. ‘Product A’ is added as a bundled product to ‘Product A’…

    Hi @syntaxerrorno ,

Can you make a screen recording video to show me how an admin can do this on your site so that we can reproduce the process and fix if there is any loopholes?

As fas as I checked on our dev site, it is impossible.

    Best regards.

    It’s actually super easy to recreate;

    1. Create a ‘Smart Bundle’ product, name it t.ex. ‘Smart Bundle’.
    2. Add a bundle item and other required info to it.
    3. Save the product (Publish).
    4. When it’s saved you can continue to edit the product, just search for ‘Smart Bundle’, and add it as a bundled item. Note! It’s greyed in the returned results, but you still can add it.
    5. Save the product again (Update).
    6. Crash …

    Hi @syntaxerrorno ,

Thanks for the information. I will write a report to our developers so that they can check and fix this asap. Please check back when you find a new update.

For now, to prevent other users from encountering errors, you can open the Search settings and hold down on only Simple product so other unsupported product types won’t apepar in the Search box: https://prnt.sc/xfSCLkLuUOXw

    Best regards.
