• I have some eBooks to giveaway through my autoresponder, but the company that runs my autoresponder told me that I have to run the PDF file through my blog. So, my question to do so is a two-part question:
    1) How do I load PDF files onto my blog?
    2) How do I do so so that they don’t show up in my blog feed, but only when someone goes through my autoresponder?
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Hi. You can use the Media Uploader to upload a PDF file to your WordPress blog. Just go to Media/Add New form the dashboard, and upload your PDF.
Once it’s uploaded, look in the “File Url” box and you’ll see the address for your PDF file, and you can give that address to the company that runs your auto responder.

This uploaded file won’t show up on your blog on in your feed, but it’s not secured in any way. If somebody knew what they were looking for it wouldn’t be too hard to find it, and if one of your customers gave the URL to another person, there’s nothing stopping them (or 1,000 other people) from downloading it. You might not care if it’s a free PDF though.

If you want secure delivery with expiring URL’s you will need to install specific software for that.

    I hope that helps.
