adding permanent introduction on top of main blog page

    hi all.

    i’ve created a new wordpress blog. i want to post a block of text, the introduction to my blog, which will stay on the top of the main blog page permanently.

    all other blog posts will show up below that main inroduction post.

    how do i go about creating a main introduction post? is it a feature already on wordpress or do i have to code it? what are the next steps?

  • edit your theme’s index.php and add whatever you want before the loop.

    bear in mind that unless you using separate template files for single post pages, etc.. that that will display at the top of all pages.
