• Hello everyone… anyone knows what is the easiest and most elegant way to add premium funcionalities to a plugin?

I.e I’m developing a free plugin with basic functionalities, that can be downloaded from plugin directory, but I want to add some extra features unlocked after paying a subscription.

    Anyone has solved this problem?

    Thanks in advance

You cannot have “locked” features in a plugin accepted into the WP repository. I’ve not developed any upgradable plugins myself, but I’ve used a few. It seems the common approach is to develop a basic, functional plugin for the repository, from which you can promote your “pro” plugin with added features. The basic and pro plugins are entirely separate entities. When users upgrade, they get a new software package to install and activate, after deactivating the basic version. Of course the pro version has all the basic features, plus the added pro features.
