• I can’t seem to figure out how to add the link and url for the link to follow. I want to add a simple link to the footer of my Twenty Eleven child theme. Any help wold be appreciated. This is my Child theme footer.php file.

    <?php
    /**
     * The template for displaying the footer.
     *
     * Contains the closing of the id=main div and all content after
     *
     * @package WordPress
     * @subpackage Twenty_Eleven
     * @since Twenty Eleven 1.0
     */
    ?>

    	</div><!-- #main -->

    	<footer id="colophon" role="contentinfo">

    			<?php
    				/* A sidebar in the footer? Yep. You can can customize
    				 * your footer with three columns of widgets.
    				 */
    				if ( ! is_404() )
    					get_sidebar( 'footer' );
    			?>

    			<div id="site-generator">

    				<?php do_action( 'twentyeleven_credits' ); ?>
    				<a>" title="<?php esc_attr_e( 'Semantic Personal Publishing Platform', 'twentyeleven' ); ?>"><?php printf( __( 'Proudly powered by %s', 'twentyeleven' ), 'WordPress' ); ?>
    </a>
    			</div>
    	</footer><!-- #colophon -->
    </div><!-- #page -->

    <?php wp_footer(); ?>

    </body>
    </html>

  • Can you explain a bit further – what do you want to do with that link and what should it show on the page?

    Your template has this section in it:

    <?php
    				/* A sidebar in the footer? Yep. You can can customize
    				 * your footer with three columns of widgets.
    				 */
    				if ( ! is_404() )
    					get_sidebar( 'footer' );
    			?>

    Can’t you create a footer menu with a link to the privacy page and add it as a widget?
    That would be the easiest way to do it.

    I don’t know how to do that Christine. WPyogi, I know how to copy and paste and change url’s etc. I am just wanting “Privacy Policy” to show at the bottom of the page where the “Proudly powered by WordPress” is. It can go before or after I don’t mind. I just don’t know the code. I am assuming it goes in the footer.php. I found a link with code that created the “Privacy Policy” at the bottom of the page but I couldn’t figure out how to link to the page after I made it private. It gave me an error. Any help would be appreciated.
