I am trying to add a privacy policy to my footer (using mantra theme). After I drag the text widget to the footer, I get stuck…I would like to add a simple link (ie click on privacy policy and it comes up) I am a little confused on how to do this because I copy and pasted a privacy policy and I have it as a word doc. Not sure how to get my policy as a link…any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Would your Privacy Policy content be in a page on your site or do you want people to download the Word document?

If you are having people download the Word document, you can upload the document under “Media” and grab the direct link to the uploaded file.

If you are adding the content from the Word document to a page on your site, grab the url to that page

….and then in the text widget add the following code around the text you want to serve as the link
    <a href="https://www.yourdomain.com/linktopageordocument/">Privacy Policy text</a>

Thanks so much for the reply! The only problem I’m having is I’m not sure how to get my priv policy word doc onto a page with a url. I tried copying and pasting onto a page in my theme (mantra) but that is not working? When I do this I have https://mystyleeyes.com/?page_id=825 and when I add to the code, it says page not found. I’m pretty sure I’m doing the whole page thing wrong…any more help would be so much appreciated! Thanks ??

    Hello Rachel

Sorry to butt in,but I think you have the answer to my question.I have a privacy policy but have it in my menu.

I would like to shift it to my footer, with the words Privacy Policy in bold letters.I would remove from main menu and use the Privacy Policy text to link to page.
Would the link you provided Al work?. How to get it in bold letters.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You,

    Ashley

    Hi Ash,
I’m not sure if Rachel has responded to you but I think all you have to do is change the code that Rachel gave where it says Privacy Policy text…just change that to PRIVACY POLICY when you are setting up the link.
I was able to figue that out but am having trouble with probably the most basic part of this which is how to get my privacy policy word doc onto a page with correct url. I am using mantra theme and tried to creat new page by copy and pasting but when I link it, it is saying page not found. Any help would be appreciate ??
