• Hopefully I’m posting this in the correct place. I’m using the Grisaille theme for my site (slocyclist.com), which is pretty much stock because I suck at design. But I’d really like to move the search bar from the sidebar to the space above the header image. I’d like it to the left–across from the social media buttons.

Can anyone help me to do this? I’ve tried messing with the CSS, but I killed my whole layout and had to restore it. I know this is a dumb question, but how do I do this?

  • That Theme has its own Support forum here:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/theme/grisaille

Take a look around there and, if you don’t find an answer, you should post your question there.

Themes vary so much, there just isn’t a stock answer (for all Themes) to a question like you asked.

That Google Custom Search form is included in the sidebar as part of a text widget. In order to move it to where you want, you will need to edit the theme template file that outputs the site header, typically header.php , and add the code there. This will require knowledge of PHP, HTML and CSS.
