Adding sections – Front page

Do you mean reusable blocks (synced patterns)?

Could you share screenshots and more details of what you want?

Let me give you more informations about my situation.

Ending objectif:
Being able to have a content on the home page that display image then text then image… while scrolling and having the background image being overlapsed by the text.
The visitor should then click on the text and being redirected to a special page with more information.

My situation now:
I installed the them Twenty Seventeen. The function with the text and the image at scrolling is working but not completely. In the parameter of the them I can add 4 pages which can be shown on the home pages. It is displaying the highlight image and the text of the page on the homepage.

What I miss:
The them parameter allowed me to have 4 pages displayed but I would like to have more.
I would like having a different a text displayed on the homepage than in the finale page.

You can check on the homepage now it could help you to understand what I meant.

Hi @toujou – Thanks for explaining further. The TwentySeventeen theme is set up to pull that information through automatically – but won’t automatically do the linking.

In terms of adding the linking, or customizing the number of pages included – those are things that are beyond the scope of what the theme itself can do – so I don’t think that would be possible.

One thing I’d recommend is looking into one of the newer themes (like TwentyTwentyThree) which allow full customization of layout and content through the new Site Editor – which would allow you to set up that kind of panel layout.

Thank you for your answer. I didnt find how to do it in TwentyTwentyThree to be honnest but I found another solution that I like in this theme.

For my personal information and future use of the theme, could you developpe me how to do it with TwentyTwentyThree please?

The main difference is that you would be able to use Query Loops on a template and adding on a page automatically while using Twenty Twenty-Three: https://www.ads-software.com/documentation/article/query-loop-block/

You would still be able to try creating something manually using the blocks (such as the Cover block) and add the links for these.
