    Hi,
I am grappling with the blog on my site which offers student services. The blog is not the main section of the site, which features 16 or so pages, but I have reached the point where I am ready to start blogging to generate interest and traffic to the site.

This is what I am aiming for. I have a post title ‘The Student Room’, which I would like to be the parent. Then, after a brief description of the nature of the bog and information students might find there, I would like to have snippits of subsequent posts that can be opened by clicking the linked title, as seen here.

This should be easy, but at the moment I am considering creating subsequent posts, and then manually placing the first paragraph of text plus title on the Student Room, and linking the title to the blog’s url.

Is this the long way around? If so, where should I be checking? I know I can assign posts to categories which will group them together, but how to link to them from the main blog page?

In Setting-Reading, the front page is set to display a static page, the home page of the site. The posts page entry below is not set. If I create a ‘The Student Room’ page and set it here as my posts page, I am directed back to the homepage.

Have found the template option on the page edit section, and created my blog page with snippits of posts appearing as I wanted.
