  • Just download the theme, unpack the archive, drop the theme’s folder into wp-content/themes and you’re done.

How would I make it instead of URL/wp it is just URL?

If you are using Xampp.. Then extract your WordPress in Htdocs folder.. for Wamp Extract your wordpress folder in WWW folder.

Make sure WordPress not extracted in another folder.

Using linux. I have installed WordPress through Softaculous, so the theme is in my wp-content/themes folder on my server.

Question: I want to move that theme folder into my www/var/ to look at it through localhost/”themefoldername”/ correct?

And then when I want to change the URL I will follow the: Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

You do not move any theme’s folder. Please see the link I posted above.
