Adding tons of empty pages?

  • In a brand new installation with Genesis Simple Child theme, I managed to inadvertently get an additional 800+ pages added to the website, while presenting this new and almost empty developing site to a customer. After googling the phenomenon, I find the infinite loop reports here.
    To be honest I haven’t tried to reproduce the error – and I don’t really care to, but I will disable the post switcher plugin for now. Here’s a list of the plugins that was active at the time (around the Dec. 7th – but unfortunately, the version numbers are the current versions today. Some updating has taken place.):

    I realise that the Duplicate Post plugin has had a similar problem. So I’m not pointing any specific fingers here. Hoping this might help some people.

    There’s still quite a few reports of this problem in connection to Post Type Switcher from other users. Has anybody looked into this issue? The plugin is still in version 3.0.0 so the issue cannot have been solved through an update, I guess. I really love this plugin, but I don’t dare to activate the plugin until there’s a clear answer to this.
    Please, let me know if there’s more that I can do to help clear this up.

    I have this same issue — just disabled the plugin and tested a Draft->Publish which worked fine.

    Sounds like a great plug-in, but for now it’s going to stay deactivated.
