Adding URL to thumbnails

  • Is there any way to link a thumbnail to a URL in version 2.1.0? In 1.9 I was able to use a custom links template and link a thumbnail to a specific URL. Since upgrading, the functionality has been lost. How can I do this with the current version?

    @rsconsult – This is no method currently in NextGEN Gallery to link to an external URL (one not linking to the Lightbox Effect) but if you were using a custom template you may still be able to use it going forward as we still offer basic support for the NextGEN Legacy template system.

    I was using the customlink template. Is that one of the legacy templates that has support? If not, where can I download the 1.9 version of NextGEN?

    @rsconsult – I have no idea what the “custom link” template is that you are referring to, it would not be one we bundle with NextGEN Gallery. We also do not recommend rolling back to NextGEN Legacy versions either … but, that being written, you can find all stable releases here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/nextgen-gallery/developers/
