I have a static site that a client would like to add a blog to. I’m considering adding a subfolder with WordPress consisting of a single page (the blog) and linking from the main static site. For anyone who has done this before, my question is, are there any drawbacks to this approach?

    None really.

I would consider, however, moving all the static content from your client to WP pages. That would keep everything always styled the same. Use a Static Front Page and they’ll never know.

None that I can think of.
