Adding wordpress header to vanilla

  • I use Mimbo for my site and I’m shopping around for some forum software.

    So far I like Vanilla and have been playing around with header integration – with no luck.

    Does anyone have any tips on adding the WordPress (Mimbo) header and perhaps footer to Vanilla. I’d like to avoid sharing a database and would prefer to just add the header.

  • If you do not plan on changing your header or footer anytime soon, you can always manually add the header and footer to your Vanilla forum. You will need FTP access and the files which contain the header and footer for Vanilla.

    Just go around the PHP, add your CSS classes from your original site with the original header and footer, (X)HTML the header and footer and copy and paste to wherever the header and footer should be located on Vanilla.

    IIRC, Vanilla is easy to integrate into an existing site. If you know how to get around the PHP, it shouldn’t be that hard to do.
