I clicked the 1 click Install for WordPress and everything worked and I can see the files in file explorer, but when I go to my websites admin it just gives me the default bluehost page and no login.

  • When you say “file explorer” do you mean your FTP client?

If you go into your Bluehost control panel, can you see the website listed in there?

The Bluehost Cpanel has a file explorer so I can see all the files under the domain name.

When I go to my control panel it says I have the domain and when I go to manage domains it is listed as an addon domain.
I received the Mojo email for my admin and password for the WordPress install but nothing will happen when I go to the link.

I noticed that when I reinstalled WordPress and I went to my WordPress tools, the addon domain I installed switched to my primary somehow and logged me in there. Do I need a different email for each instance of WordPress?

    Hey @gregmini,

Sounds like you got things sorted, but for your future reference…

Before anything, you need to ensure the domain has been properly added to BlueHost. Take note of the “root” folder the domain is connected to, which is the folder WordPress needs to be installed in.
If that is in good order, you can use the 1-click WordPress install to set everything up.
In the 1-click install settings page, make sure WordPress is being installed to the EXACT same “root” folder that the domain is pointing to.
After the install, go to the file explorer, navigate to the “root” folder and see if the wp files are there.
If the files are in the “root” folder, when you go to your domain in a web browser, you should be WordPress.

You can use the same email address for as many WordPress installs you need. I’ve used the same email address for hundreds of sites!

    Hope that helps ??
Feel free to ask more questions if you need.

I have the same problem ??
How did you resolve it @gregmini ? Help ??

Thanks for the tips and help! @jordanwpcom

    Hey @sani79…the best I can explain it…

I kept reinstalling it and it never seemed to work properly. I went into the file manager and deleted everything from my addon domain folder so it was completely empty.

I then reinstalled the whole thing back to the correct folder with the easy install…but I made to sure to completely delete my browser cache…and wait a few minutes for everything to configure properly. The page then read the “Coming Soon” as it should.

I feel like if I went to the page instantly and it wasn’t done so my browser cached the original page…just a hunch though.

I hope that helped out anyone else having issues.

@gregmini Dear Greg, thank you so much for taking time to answer my question. I took your advice, but since i am such an idiot i delete entire file manager and lost all of my 3 sites. After watching so many you tube videos i ended up with no resultes. Thanks God i have the best hosting provider in the world BLUEHOST, i contact them and they restore my lost sites. My advice to everyone is if you are not an expert dont mess with file menager. If you are lucky and have Bluehost contact them they will help you.
All the best to you Greg
