  • Hi Don,

The -2 is something that is added by WordPress itself when it detects a collision in the slug with some other post object on your site.

Post objects can be Posts, Pages, Media uploads, and more. But usually its due to an image file that is uploaded to the site prior to creating the link with the same name as the slug you want to use.

Eg. linkname.jpg would take the slug linkname and you wouldn’t be able to use that for your affiliate link slug.

The easiest way to resolve it once you find the image is to delete the media object, rename it and re-upload it. Then you should be able to use the slug in your affiliate link.

    I hope this helps!
