I’ve been using this plugin for many years and it is great. I’ve just noticed that it creates a robots.txt file to disable /wp-admin/ access. This isn’t a physical file as it doesn’t appear in my directory listing but must be generated on the fly.

Google was complaining about a robots.txt file restricting access. It has taken some time to locate this and find this plugin is the culprit.

Why is this plugin generating a robots.txt file?

This plugin doesn’t create a robots.txt file (virtual or otherwise). Can you explain how you came to believe that it does?

Sorry, just realised that this is WordPress creating a virtual robots.txt file. I thought it was this plugin because it only appeared/disappeared on activation/deactivation but this is due to the permalinks being flushed.

    Please ignore!
