• After installing Astra, I added some custom CSS in the Additional CSS screen in the Customize panel. I then downloaded, installed and made active a child theme that I created using the child theme creation tool on the Astra theme page. In general, the child theme works okay, but the Additional CSS that I had added before was gone. I had to switch the active theme back to the original Astra theme to see the Additional CSS again and to see the effect of it again on in the UI. Shouldn’t the Additional CSS still be there and be in effect after installing the child theme? Haven’t seen this problem using child themes with other themes before.

  • Hi @ypotw ,

That’s strange! It shouldn’t be happening as child theme always inherit the parent theme customizer setting with itself.

Just to make sure, have you downloaded the Astra child theme from here?

If not then can you please download the valid child theme from the above link and then install that child theme and let me know if that helps.

If still, you face the same issue, then please open a support ticket so that we can have a better look.

    Regards,

Yes, it is very strange. Never had this issue before with any child theme. Yes, the link you provided is where I generated the child theme. Made no manual changes at all — just installed it. I will open a support ticket about this. this isn’t really getting in the way of anything we’re doing on the site — it just makes me nervous that there is some sort of incompatibility/conflict going on.

    Hi @ypotw ,

No worries, We would soon debug the issue for you and get it fixed if it is only happening with Astra.

    Regards,
    Deepak
