Adjust shop page to NOT use product image as featured image

  • We are having a very difficult time figuring out how to not use the product images for the shop main pages featured image.

    We have assigned a featured image on the shop page, and want to use that image. Right now, the featured image being used is from first product that is found in the first category listed. If we add a new product, and it sorts first, the featured image on the shop page changes to that products image.

    Very frustrating! We have done extensive testing, and cannot find where woocommerce sets the PAGE featured image – not the product featured image. We have copied files to our child theme, adjusted, added text so we knew it was pulling in the right files. Our only solution is to hard code the actual image url. Anyone have any insight?

    We’ve tried everything that we found, and no solutions.

  • I just ran across the exact same problem without a solution yet. I’m trying to use the featured image as a banner, but it’s pulling the first product image instead.
