Adjusting username via a query

Hi there,

I won’t extensively go into the why and bore you (bsaically I’m just trying to integrate with a vBulletin database)… but can anyone tell me the impact of adjusting a WordPress username via a query?

The admin interface says usernames are unchangeable, so I just wanted some understanding on the ramifications of my action.

My only thought was that old comments by that user will become ‘detatched’ from the parent account. But as far as I can tell if you adjust the displayname it doesn’t update old posts anyway.
