Admin access – HELP!

    Hello all,

    After more than a week trawling the Internet, fruitlessly, I decided to seek help here:

    My site works perfectly, but I am having issues with the admin user. I have an active directory and users log in to register/add their websites – all these users logging in via google login and are getting registered as admin and they have access to entire website . I’m not sure how to fix it .

    I can log in as admin. so cxan all the users unless I manually change their access to the website . the users can execute any admin option that is done through wp-admin/admin.php – that works perfectly for ALL – putting the site ar RISK.

    Things I have tried (and don’t work):

    • I have removed .htaccess
    • I have removed all plugins and themes
    • I have made sure all files/directories have the right permissions (even changed them all to 777 to test)

    None of the above helped.

    I am at a loss. Any help before someone trashes the WordPress forever would be really appreciated.

    I’m supposing you mean an online business/website directory, and not a Microsoft Active Directory server ??

    What directory plugin are you using?

    WordPress has no Google login/register feature. How have you implemented this? What plugin are you using? Or is this a feature of your directory plugin?

    Note that I could have figured out these myself if you had simply provided your website URL!

    Thanks a lot @gappiah e The website link –https://alternativeai.io/. It will be great if you can provide any inputs – will save me from having the stress of manually weeding out the admins and everyday I have around half a dozen unknown people with links to the website .

    To register with Google, use the HivePress plugin. I had a look at their documentation. The function you are using here is a commercial add-on called “Social Login”. I would therefore recommend that you contact their support to clarify your question: https://help.hivepress.io – questions about commercial products are not permitted here in the forum.
