• Hi,

since i installed this plugin i receive emails 4-5 each hours that administrator account has been locked. I do not attempt to log into system so what does it mean ?

Moreover i do not believe that someone is trying to hack my website.
So how can i know the IP, country or any information relative to those attempts to log in ?

    Dear Site Admin,

“A user, xxxx, has been locked out of the WordPress site at https://www.my-website-name.com due to too many bad login attempts.

The user has been locked out until 2015-05-15 08:18:48.

To release the lockout please visit the lockouts page.”

    thx.

  • You can find the ip address attempting to login in the iTSec plugin Logs page.
Look at the records with Function “Invalid Login Attempt”.

    thanks a lot

How to avoid those people to try again ?
can i report them somewhere or avoid their IP to try to hack my website ?

If there are invalid login attempts while using the default admin user account you can configure the iTSec plugin to ban their ip address(es) instantly.

You will need to enable several iTSec plugin settings for this to function properly.

A better solution would be to replace your admin administrator account with something less obvious.
