• Hello,

Is it normal for the admin-ajax.php file to be loaded/reloaded as you type in a WYSIWYG ACF field? I know WordPress does this in the background at a set timed interval, but a new instance seems to appear with every keystroke on our sites. This seems to be causing the server to overload and eventually fall over.

  • I’m having the same issue with at least 1 request sent via admin-ajax.php per keystroke, in addition to WordPress’ normal requests. I haven’t had any servers toppling because of it, but it certainly is noticeable while inputting content.

Uninstalling on all sites as it is still happening and support staff don’t seem bothered about investigating for a fix

Same issue here. Deactivating the plugin seems to be the only way to fix it. Would be nice if the support staff could fix this problem.

Could https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/heartbeat-control/ be a solution for this problem until the devs fix the issue?

    Hi @jeppeskovsgaard,

We’ve got this installed on some of the sites. But it doesn’t seem to be helping, presumably because the admin-ajax.php calls are being made on scroll or on click, so they’re coming in very rapidly. We’re talking about 200 or 300 on a single page scroll for example.
