Great plug-in, really enjoying it, however I’ve hit a snag. After the Admin approves a User the automatically generated email does not fire off to the user, letting them know they’ve been approved.

I’ve tested the email addresses I’m using with the “send an example” tool, so I know they’re not getting sent to Spam/Trash.

Is this a glitch or do I have to manually send the confirmation to users that they’ve been approved?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi zod,

You shouldn’t have to manually send it. The automatic email should work.

Do you have any of the other automatic emails set up in the plugin (e.g. the sign-up email, the email to the admin when someone registers, the forgot password email, etc.), and are they working?

If so, then perhaps there’s something incorrect in the settings for this one email. Make sure you’ve created an email in the “Emails” tab, then go to “Premium” area of the “Options” tab and set “Email On Admin Approval” to that email.

Yes I’ve got it setup so that the Admin gets an email when someone registers. That works fine.

So I went to the emails tab, I’ve got a little email all setup and ready to go.

I went to the Premium version of the Options section and double checked. It’s set to shoot off an Email on Admin Approval using the above Default Approval Email.

    • Email On Admin Approval
    • Default Appoval Email

So everything ‘looks’ like it should be working but it’s not sending that email for some reason. Any other ideas?

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi Zod,

Can you try setting the admin approval email to a really basic one? Something like one sentence of plain text and see if that sends correctly on admin approval?

    Hello Rustaurius,

I shortened it down to just a few words.

    Type? Default Appoval Email
    Subject? IMS Administrator – Approval
Message? You have been approve to login.

Worked fine until i went to approve it. I checked off the box for the user, hit approve and got the “Users have been successfully approved.” message.

I waited about 15 minutes but nothing has come through to the user email to let them know it’s been approved. ??

    Hi Zod,

Thanks for following up. We’ll test the approval emails on our development server over the next day or two to try to replicate the issue you’re experiencing, and then go from there.

Hold on a minute, I’m having some issues with the contact form I’m using, this may be a server issue. The website is a Beta site with a temporary domain, the issue may be that we have not switched the site over to the main domain yet. We are doing this later this week. Could be an MX record thing and not a plugin thing.

    Hi Zod,

Thanks for letting us know. In that case, we’ll hold off on trying to replicate the problem until you’ve let us know that it’s still an issue on the main domain.

I am actually having the exact same issue but mine is on the main domain. Did you get this resolved EtoileWebDesign?

So I tested the admin approval email as well and received it, however when I simply approve an email, I don’t get it. And all my settings above are the same as well.

My problem resolved as soon as we switched over to the new domain. However we were having a separate issue internally. Make sure your internal DNS doesn’t require the WWW for the domain to work. I had to add that to my WordPress configuration to get it working on the internal network. WordPress standard is a naked URL without the WWW in front of the domain.

Thank you!! Would you have simple steps on how to add to WordPress configuration. I will dive into it. I appreciate your help!
