I was trying to install a new plugin yesterday (Buddypress) and my screen froze and I now find that I cannot log in to …/wp-admin at all, from any machine or browser. The site itself is still accessible (oxfordhumanists.org.uk) but I cannot get in to edit or update. If I click on ‘edit page’ in the top menu I go back to the blank page, so I have no way to deactivate or delete the plugin.

ANy suggestions or advice much appreciated
    Michele

  • The error might be occuring due to the currupt buddypress installation. Have you tried to delete the plugin folder of buddypress by using cpanel or ftp?

I had to figure out how to ftp but once I was in I managed to delete the plugin and all is indeed well again. Must be an issue with the buddypress and bbpress(same issues, same resolution) plugins and Theme 14. I am trying Muut now and so far so good.
Thank you very much for the prompt help
