Admin area Search for zipcode or city

  • Hi,

    On the frontend my users can search for zip-code or city. In the backend (admin area) however it seems i can only search for store-name. When i search for zip-code or city i get zero results. When i search for a store name i do get results, zo the search function is not broken (at least, not fully broken).

    Does searching for zip-code supposed to work? i.e. is my installation wonky, or is this expected behaviour?

    I also noticed with the Relevanssi plugin enabled the internal search does not return any results, so i am wondering if another plugin might interfere with the search for zip-codes?

    The internal search in the admin area only searches for titles, so it’s not supposed to return data if you search for a zip. I looked into changing this in the past, but it was a bit tricky to get it to work.

    I never used the Relevanssi plugin, but check if there’s an option that can be enabled to include results from custom post types. Or maybe check the documentation how to do this. It could be that the search by default only includes normal WP posts / pages in the results.
