    Hi

If I select hide Admin bar for a subscriber only. The bar is hidden for the admins as well. If I select the hiding only for the new roles created by the plugin admins can see the bar.

    Could this be a bug?

    Hi,

Check if user with administrator role which loses admin bar, does not have subscriber role too. If multiple roles assigned to a user you may meet the described situation.

Your plugin does not show Admin user role when logged in as an admin. Hence, I have no idea how to check what you asked.

The only changes I made using your plugin is to create two new user roles and select hide admin bar for Subscriber user, which made the bar hide for admin as well, hence this post.

URE allows to see ‘administrator’ role at the list of roles at “Users->User Role Editor’. I need to turn ON special (1st) option at “Settings->User Role Editor->General” tab. Check if ‘Hide admin bar’ option is turned OFF for ‘administrator’ role.

I have meant to open the list of users with ‘Administrator’ role and look if someone have the ‘Subscriber’ role assigned in addition to the ‘Administrator’ one.

I didn’t realise that there is a separate setting page for the plugin. It is odd to see a settings page for a plugin that has its own menu entry…

Anyway, yes, the main admin indeed also has Subscriber role assigned along with the admin role. I cannot see how a dual role be assigned to a user, nor how to remove that role though. Please guide me.

On a side note, I see that the admin profile does not have ‘create_posts’ ticked, but they can create posts with no problem. Your comment on this please?

PS. Thank you for the prompt responses. It is highly appreciated.

Click ‘Capabilities’ link under the selected user row. Turn Off checkbox with ‘Subscriber’ role at the ‘Other roles’ section. Click ‘Update’.

WordPress uses ‘edit_posts’ by default as for ‘Add New’ permission, as for editing existing posts. I don’t know how ‘create_posts’ appeared exactly at your site. For example, URE Pro may add it if related option is turned ON. User without ‘create_posts’ will not see ‘Add New’ menu item and button after that.

    Thank you. All clear.
