Hello! Thank you for this plugin. I started using it this morning. However, some items that I have hidden are still present in the admin bar menu.

I have told the plugin to show only the following in the admin bar menu:

    Left Menu: blog_name
    Right Menu: search, howdy [user_name][user-avatar]

However, the following additional (non-selected) items also show up for a logged in subscriber:

    1. WordPress menu (About WordPress, etc.)
    2. Dashboard
    3. Comments

Any suggestions for ensuring that the above items are actually hidden?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi verysiberian,

    Thank you for your feedback.
I think to your problem is maybe only front-end.
Could you please check Site Settings > General > Admin Bar Settings?

    Thanks,

Thank you for your reply! You were correct that I somehow missed the setting I wanted, which is under General > Admin Bar > Apply Admin UI Customize Settings on the front end admin bar also. I just applied that setting and it looks better. However, the admin bar is still giving access to the Dashboard, which I wanted to block. I want the only item on the left side of the admin bar to be the name of the site and visit site. I do not want the user to have Dashboard access at all. Do you have any suggestions for how to make this work?

    Thank you!
    Rob

    Thank you for your reply.
Maybe, I think your settings have Dashboard link on the left side of the admin bar.
Could you please check after remove the Dashboard link?

And for Dashboard access, I think subscriber is possible to show when loggin.
If you want to fully don’t access, please remove the read capability for subscriber and redirect to your site url from admin profile url.

    Thanks,

Thanks again! I actually do not have the Dashboard link enabled on the left side of the admin bar. See this screenshot:

I was able to solve the problem with a separate plugin, Remove Dashboard Access:

Thank you again for your support and your very useful plugin!

I had the same problem – the front end admin bar wasn’t showing my changes.

For improved usability, I think it might be useful to have a notification on the “Admin Bar Menu” at the top saying something like “Warning: you need to allow admin bar customisation on the site setting page first” with a link to that page. If it’s activated then hide the warning.

Great plugin otherwise, really really useful!
