Admin-bar.min.css is listed as phishing

  • My website has been listed in phishing sites because of admin-bar.min.css as sukuri website says my site has been blacklisted due to admin-bar.min.css. by Norton Safe Web.

    I checked the CSS file for words like ‘url’ or ‘http’ but there is no url.

    So I created account in Norton site and added my site and verified them by adding meta tag they said.

    But how should I resolve this issue if WP core files being detected as phishing by anti-virus companies?

    You may want to contact Norton. That should not mark anyone’s site as a phishing site.

    That’s bad on them. Can you contact Norton? Then creating false positives hurts them as a company too.

    Edit: And Google thinks your site is hacked too.

    Yeah, it’s probably just Norton feeding Google.

    I contacted them now and informed them. They say this website is not safe because of that file. Hmm.

    If that’s what they said the a) they’re wrong and b) millions of sites would be banned. And they’re not.

    I don’t know why they made that erroneous claim but it’s not the file that comes from WordPress.

    Yes. You are correct. Now they removed the ban but yet to let me know the real cause.
