Admin blank pages again

    I’ve tried a number of the trouble shooting tips, renaming plug ins, replacing wp-config file. I got past the log in page, but but can’t see dashboard. When I click on dashboard, this is what happens: blog/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fblog%2Fwp-admin%2F. I put in the error reporting php and it didn’t give up any clues. Any other ideas before I rip it out and reinstall?

  • Did you try changing your theme to a wordpress default like 2014?

    I am using the default of 2012.
    blog/wp-content/themes/twentytwelve/style.css?ver=3.7.4′

    I also went into database and exported sql files. I did a fresh install of WP and with a new database and attempted to import my 500 or so posts but the fields aren’t matching up. The first blog is very very old, so I assume database design has changed over the years.

    I found a solution. I set up a second blog but named it differently. It was working fine. So using Transmit, I opened the server window for wpadmin on the older blog and then uploaded the new wpadmin from the new blog. It cleared it out.

    My next step is to try to export from older blog posts and import into newer blog. I suspect the older blog is just too ancient at this point.
