• After entering a new post and publishing it I select the dashboard home link and the URL changes to the admin wp-admin/index.php URL but the Firefox browser stays on the post edit page until I click on the refresh arrow in the address bar. Then Firefox takes me to the Admin dashboard page.
I cleared cookies and browser history but this makes no difference.
I checked this in Chrome and when I click on Dashboard>Home a popup window asks if I want to leave the page. Selecting Yes/Ok I then go to the Dashboard>Home even though I did not make any changes to the post.
    How do I fix Firefox?

To rule out any theme/plugin issue, try:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

If the above steps don’t help, try Troubleshooting with your browser. Your browser can help you identify JavaScript issues or conflicts and this article can assist you in doing that diagnosis. This could help identify Visual Editor issues as well.

I deactivated all plugins and the problem still exists.
I switched the theme to Twenty Seventeen and the problem still exists.
Using the Firefox web console I see no errors.

The Chrome browser doesn’t have these issues so I think this would remove WordPress as the problem. Also I have the same problem on Ebay.com.
