• Hello there,

I am not sure what changed or what is not getting loaded in the admin/editor after I upgraded the theme *dev instance), but now when I edit a Page that is using Rows and Columns, the columns while editing do not resize properly, lets say I have 1 row with 4 columns and the 1st column is 75%, when I edit the page the editor display all columns as 25% making edits to the content very difficult, but when I preview and publish the page the page looks good.
So I am not sure if a css is not getting loaded in the admin section after I upgraded the them? or no idea how to find the potential issue.
Unfortunately I cannot provide a link since this only seen in the editor
Any idea or anyone else with this issue?

  • Hello @alexmaya,

Thank you for reaching out. How are you? ??

This sounds like a conflict between plugins or minification issue.
Have you tried disabling all plugins (except the Page Builder you’re using) and try to edit the pages afterward?
If that helps, you can try re-activating all plugins one by one to determine which plugin exactly is causing the conflict.

Let me know if this worked for you.

    Best Regards,
    Pavle

    Hi @gdpavle ,

    Thanks for reaching out.
I disabled all plugins and didn’t make a difference
Then I deleted the template all together and reinstalled the theme and still nothing
Not sure what is going on … maybe I should not use Rows and columns? I installed Otter plug in and the have some kind of sections that look to work similar, will give it a shot
    Any other idea?
    Thanks again

    Hi @alexmaya,

If the solution with Otter plugin works for you, that sound great.
Here are a couple of advices that you can consider while trying to fix the default editor:

    1. Keep your WordPress up-to-date.
    2. Install “Enable jQuery Migrate Helper” in case any of your plugins is not prepared for the latest version of WordPress.
    3. Keep the theme up-to-date.

    Have a wonderful day. ??

    Best Regards,

    Hi @gdpavle

    Thanks again for reaching out.
I did upgraded WordPRess and the theme, I also updated the plugins and I just installed Eanble JQuery Migrate Helper as suggested but nope, does not look like it is making a difference.

Here I have put a couple of screen shots, edit vs preview.

Could it be that something is not getting loaded properly in the admin or a file was not updated properly when i updated the versions ?

Thanks again for any possible info.

    Hi @alexmaya,

I have just looked into your issue, and it is possible that something was not updated properly. It could also be a Gutenberg bug since 5.5 Update did create lots of similar issues.

Unfortunately, since your issue seems to be specific for the content you have entered I cannot get any more information that could help me assist you, the only thing you may try if you know how to do it is the following:

    1) Open the page editor in Google Chrome browser and please replicate your issue
    2) Press CTRL+SHIFT+I on Windows (CMD+SHIFT+I on MacOS) and click on the Console tab that will appear
    3) You will likely see some errors in red, take a screenshot of those errors so I could take a look.

I hope this helps, have a nice day,
    Andrija
