Our forminator emails are not sending – upon downloading an email tracking plugin, emails to certain admins had an error and “could not instantiate”. This is not a problem with the host of the emails, as one of the emails is hosted by gmail. How can I fix this and initiate admin emails?

The emails it isn’t sending to are gmail accounts.

    Hi @oxygwen,

Forminator follows default WP functionality for sending its emails so as long as your emails are sent properly in general then Forminator ones should be fine as well.

Are you emails like new user registration and password reset working fine?

You can try setting up SMTP plugin on your site to handle email sending and see if that helps.

Do you have any additional info on the error that is shown for email not being sent?
Have you tried using a plugin like https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-mail-logging/ to see if it catches the email and the information on why they are not being sent?

    Cheers,

The emails to the non-gmail admins are working, but not the the gmail admins. All other emails are working properly, and that is the plugin I used, which provides no other error information (unless I’m missing it). Is there a better way to check?

    Hi @oxygwen

Could you double-check the Gmail folders?

There are some cases that Gmail send the email to the wrong folders like Promotions or Socials.

But the best way to test is using an SMTP plugin, you can configure the SMTP to send from Gmail instead of wp_mail()

For example, using our Branda plugin:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/branda-white-labeling/

    https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/branda/#smtp

Let us know the result you got.

    Hi,

I still don’t receive the message to my address email (@gmail.com). I can see the message in the Forminator plugin, but not in my email.

I have a friend that set up the plugin in the same way as me.

I like the design of the plugin and I would like to use it instead of changing it.

Could you help me please ?

    Cordially

    Hello @sarasantos1964,

Emails functionality is not at all controlled by the plugin. As mentioned before the wp_mail does that. Now I would like to understand the current scenario is why I have a few questions.

    1. Did you set up the email mail logging plugin to see the flow and issues?
    Link to the plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-mail-logging/

    2. Are you currently using the default way or the SMTP way for emails?

    3. If the answer to question two is using the default way, how about trying to use an SMTP plugin to check if that works?

Now with the emails failing, if it does not work with SMTP and you use a logging plugin, we might be able to extract the exact reason for emails not working with certain emails if they do not work.

If you are comfortable working on the above solutions to test if they work, could you make the tests and let us know if that works for you?

    Thank you,

    Hi,

I will explain you how I install the application with my email.

First of all, I create a gmail for my website. I didn’t use my professional email, because a colleague told me to put the email of gmail to receive the messages from Internet users.

After that, I installed the plugin “Forminator” and follow the steps of this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6spIKlUmQM

In the end, I did everything in the video, and I asked my colleague to see if everything was as he did. He said yes, but I don’t receive the message instead of my colleague that receive the messages in his gmail account. I did exactly the same thing, but it is not working.

Do you think the issue comes from my gmail account ?

I also use my own gmail for my WordPress account, and in Forminator, I use the gmail of my website. Do you think it can be the problem ?

    Hi @sarasantos1964

The email not reaching the inbox can be caused by different issues.

You can run this quick test.

Go to WordPress > Users > Add Users and add a new subscriber user using your Gmail, make sure to check the option to receive the credentials on your Gmail and save the new user.

If you don’t receive the email it means the problem is related to:

    – Your hosting email not working as expected
    – Gmail blocking your emails
    – WordPress emails not working.

For any of those, the easier solution is using Gmail as your SMTP, which means, when the form is submitted it is going to send the email from Gmail instead of your hosting.

You can follow the same recommendation:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/branda-white-labeling/

    https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/branda/#smtp
    https://wpmudev.com/blog/how-to-use-gmail-to-send-wordpress-emails/

In case the issue persists, per forum rules, kindly create a new topic so we don’t spam the thread starter user.
