Admin Fields Broken

    We use the admin fields a lot.
    We use it to display additional information on our products, and for product filtering.

    With the old version, the option that said: Value or Field (Show value instead of field.)
    If you chose value only, it would also show the Title of the field, now it doesn’t show the title.

    The metadata (custome field) also used to be “wccaf_[field name/title]”, now when you create a new one, it’s just a number. It would be nice to be able to create your own metadata name so the new fields can match the data already entered on our products.

    Please address these issues.

  • This is a problem I’m also encountering. I have asked the dev in my thread if there is a way to customize field names.

    Regading the field name is not visible, I will display the field key just like before, since it may be needed for adding custom logic on your own.

    Regarding the field name is not user friendly, that decision was made to avoid fields naming collision across multiple groups.

    In the future release, I will give an option to use legacy key generation (which is based on field label) or the automated key generation.

    The admin fields (admin checkbox) related issue is solved, pls update to V 4.0.5 and let me know iof it solved the issue.

    Regarding the User friendly field key (name) it will be availbel next week.

    Thank you for addressing this so quickly. We will wait to update once friendly key names become available.

    Has the User friendly field key (name) been updated?
    I see the field key is displayed now when editing the fields, but I don’t see a way to change it.

    Is the user friendly field key issue resolved at this point? Not sure I understand the version notes…

    It would be nice to have a UI friendly solution where user could enter custom field key/name then save changes.

    I rolled back to 3.0.4. After upgrading to 4.0.6, there was still no visible way to alter or customize the field names and the values seem more complicated to access as I could not display the Fields Factory values on the product admin page (we use Fields Factory for Wholesale price, Product Cost, Cost Code, and Product source). With 3.0.4 everything is easy to implement.

    Hi, the fields key update feature has been added, planing to release tommorrow.

    @rayhunt0917 @tgdjames This option is added with the version 4.0.7, pls update and let me know if it worked.

    To update the key, click on the field key, it will turned into a text box, where you can enter a new key once done press Enter key.

    Finally click on the Update button.

    The feature is available from versdion V 4.0.7.
