Admin Login Goes Straight to 404

Hi,

I have not been very active on setting up my wife’s Pilates website, but had downloaded a couple of themes and added some plugins – actually the site is not even launched.

When I left it some time back, everything was working fine . . . now I cannot even get to the admin login panel?

I have tried logging into:
kim4pilates.com/wp-login/ and also
kim4pilates.com/wordpress/wp-admin/

The browser sits and thinks before throwing a 404 error and changes the URL to:
https://kim4pilates.com/VWQTP/wp-login/ with several random letters between the domain name and the next portion of the URL.

I have tried the following steps:

1. Cleared browser cache and cookies. – No luck.

2. Logged in via ftp and renamed the plugins directory to plugins.bak and created an empty plugins directory. – Same result as above.

3. Renamed the .htaccess file to .htaccess.bak. – Still no change.

I am an old Unix admin (from 25 years back) but am new to WP, so please be gentle and kind on an old dog trying to learn new tricks.

Could someone help me pls?
