• I noticed an email warning from my Wordfence plugin that my website administration
was accessed from another country. Trying to get into my administration page myself, I wasn’t able to get access with my password and username.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

This article lists 7 completely different ways to reset your password. Any one of them will work and do the job. Find the one that’s right for you and use that: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Resetting_Your_Password

If you just received a notification from wordfence stating someone just logged into your website (from another source / location) and now you cannot log in… I think you’ve been hacked my friend..

If you cannot access your backend / admin – you can try resetting your password manually if you cannot use the “forgot password”. This should work but it’s been a while since I’ve had to use this method:

    • Access your database via Control Panel / PHP My Admin
    • Click wp_users from the left panel list.
    • Under user_login you will see the list of registered users. Under the user whose password you wish to reset, click edit.
    • Under the user_pass column, clear the value on the far right and replace with what you would like the password to be.
    • In the Function drop-down menu, select MD5.
    • At the bottom of the page, click GO.

Or if you have a database backup, I would suggest uploading that first.

Your link does not work for me. If your site is timyoung.ca, Sucuri reports it as blacklisted and likely compromised (https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/timyoung.ca). Sorry.

    Thanks for all your advice.

I was able to reset my password, get rid of an unused theme, and update my plugins. If hacking my site was possible, how regular is this to happen, and is Wordfence (the free version) useful or something hackers are attracted to?
My site is only used as a portfolio for design and artwork. Its function still seems to work, but as aCstudent pointed out that the site is blacklisted, is there a way to get things back to normal?

    Thanks.

I am also having the same problem. I cannot login with the correct username and password through different browsers, networks or computers. It’s not firewall or cache.
