Admin menu – how to undo "Collapse menu"?

I clicked the “Collapse menu” icon at the bottom of my admin menu, and now I can’t undo that. How do I reverse the “Collapse menu” action?

I see mention of an mfold value in the database, but I can’t tell clients to edit the database to undo a user interface option.
