Admin navigation bar collapse/expand

    Hello – I really did try to find an answer for a seemingly simple question but couldn’t find my exact question, and I’m sorry! But here goes:

    Unlike many here, I like the left-side admin nav bar, but since the latest version it stays collapsed – and I really want it to stay expanded, all the time. I don’t have time to hover over each one to see what’s there, as I’m still a sorta new user.

    Is there a way to keep the admin panel navigation bar expanded all the time?

    You are misunderstanding the issue we were having here. The issue was not with expanding the menu to show the sub-menu items, it was with expanding and shrinking the menu left-to-right.

    So, in wordpress 3.1 or earlier, there were little double arrows << in between the sections of the menu (ie, right between comments and appearance), and if you clicked those, it would shrink the menu right to left and remove the words and just have the icons. In wordpress 3.2, there’s now a gray link at the bottom of the menu that says “collapse menu” that does the same thing.

    My menu on my site got stuck in the shrunk format, which wasn’t how I wanted it.

    Since then, it actually randomly one day started working fine again, so its no longer an issue for me. Why it started working again – I have no idea…

    I think you should open a new thread to deal with your issue since its not the same as the issue this thread was started for.

    Odds are it was a server glitch :/

    Yeah, it lasted for over a month, so if it was a glitch, it was a persistent one, but since its gone now, I’m not stressing over it anymore…
