admin no longer receives email

I have tested and the email is working with WordPress 3.8.1.

Are the other emails from the plugin being sent (approval or denial emails)?

Has anything changed in your install to affect this change, such as a new plugin, a new version of WP, etc.?

If it was working and it stopped all of a sudden, my guess is that the problem is not the plugin. The plugin is using the WP way of sending email.

Any more information you could provide would be helpful.

Sorry for the hiatus. I finally figured out what was causing the issue.
While using the plugin better-wp-security I disabled the file editor.
which added this to my wp-config.
define(‘DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT’, true);
and that seems to be what was causing the admin to not receive any emails upon new user registration. All other emails were fine just not reg emails sent to admin. once I removed that setting the emails started working again.

I am having to use WP-Mail-SMTP to send emails from my site, otherwise nothing works. No emails are being sent from the New User Approve Plugin. By your comment that the plugin is using WP way of sending email, I am assuming that is the issue. Anyway that you know to make it work?

@glhs958 I tested with that configuration and still received emails as expected. Are you still experiencing this issue?

@tonyromero Are you getting all other emails from WordPress? For example, when you forget your password or when your site is updated.

I do get emails. A new users that registers receives the email but the admin does not get notification.

A new user should not receive the email until after they have been approved, not at the time of registration. You are describing the default behavior of WordPress. Is the plugin activated? What other plugins do you have activated?
