Admin Notification Email not sending

I’m sure this topic has already been discussed, but I’m having issues finding a resolution.
I believe I have everything set up correctly, but I (admin) am not receiving any email notifications that a new user is requesting access to my site when registering. I’ve checked the general options > email configuration > administrative: new user notification and email address is entered correctly.
Any thoughts on what this issue might be?
