• I have two issues basically:

    1.
Haven’t used my blog settings for a while.. Now i want to change the menu, layout and themes and it seems the Appearance option in the Admin menu is missing.. I have two blogs: https://www.target-bg.com/blog/bg and https://www.target-bg.com/blog/en.. both hosted by rila.superhosting.bg
I enter the WordPress admin panel with login TARGET HD. It looks as if that login doesn’t have access to Appearance and settings.. WHAT CAN I DO to get hold of that?

    2. I tried to ask my question here registering the login mentioned above.. and it was not accepted.. so I had to create a new profile with a new login and password (the ones I am using now) to contact you?
Why did I have to do that? Can I do all that with just one account/profile/login?

    Thank you in advance!

  • Why are you using an old copy of WordPress? Were you aware that your site is currently running a very real risk of being hacked? You need to upgrade WordPress asap.

Can you confirm that that account on your self-hosted installation has “administrator” privileges? Not having that role would limit the menus that that account would see.

I’m not sure what you mean. The accounts in these support forums are not connected to your or any self-hosted WordPress accounts. To post here you would have to make a separate account which it looks like you’ve done already as you’ve posted this topic. ??

Regarding the login questions: each site is a completely separate and standalone site. Each one has a different login and password. It is also a good security practice to never share the same password across web sites and online services. You can use a password application like 1Pass or KeePass to help manage all your passwords.

As to why you can’t access the appearance settings, perhaps your user account does not have permissions to. Find out who has admin rights to the sites (perhaps your host would know) and ask for your user role to be promoted to admin (be careful with this – you can really mess up a site with admin access!).

And as Esmi notes, update! Your sites are at risk using an older WordPress version with known security vulnerabilities.
